WHAT IS NATURE THERAPY?
Nature therapy is derived from the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku. Sometimes it is also referred to as forest bathing or forest therapy. Some schools of thought offer various definitions, however, under any name it is essentially a guided somatic wellbeing practice in nature. It entails spending conscious time in nature, slowing down and engaging the senses.

In short, Nature therapy is a practice that:
Cultivates and maintains a deep connection to nature, other individuals and self
Allows the practitioner to slow down, find a state of embodiment and recharge
Combines elements of ceremony and play
Brings numerous mental and physical health benefits
While nature is the therapist, the guide holds space and helps participants open the doors to this connection by offering prompts for internal and external exploration. It can be practised individually or in a group.
